A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE CORINTH HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS TEAM AND COACH LYNN WOOD FOR THEIR NINTH STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 2001-2002 SEASON.

     WHEREAS, the Corinth High School Tennis Team compiled a total of 10 points to win the Class 3A State Championship for the 2001-2002 season; and

     WHEREAS, this was the ninth state championship for the Corinth High School tennis program; and

     WHEREAS, members of the 2001-2002 team are Sean Shaalan, Christian Albarracin, Elijah Myrick, Houston Perry, Lauren Roberts, Jenny Pace, Catherine Simmons and Anna Lambert; and

     WHEREAS, this championship squad is led by Head Coach Lynn Wood and Assistant Coaches Chris Coleman and Corrine Pierce; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize the special accomplishments of this group of student athletes who have again brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, That we commend and congratulate the Corinth High School Tennis Team and Coach Lynn Wood for their ninth State AAA Championship and for their outstanding 2001-2002 season, and wish them continued success in their future athletic and scholastic endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Coach Lynn Wood, the Principal of Corinth High School and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
