A RESOLUTION COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE LES BARNETT FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

     WHEREAS, Representative Les Barnett has served the citizens of House District 116, Harrison County, Mississippi, for eight years; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Barnett, a resident of Biloxi, graduated from D'Iberville High School and attended Gulf Coast Community College and Louisiana State University; and

     WHEREAS, because of his strong leadership abilities, Representative Barnett was appointed as Vice Chairman of the Public Utilities Committee; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Barnett currently serves on the Conservation and Water Resources, Interstate Cooperation, and Public Health and Welfare Committees; and

     WHEREAS, an active member of his community, Representative Barnett is a member of several organizations including the Heritage United Methodist Church and the American Legislative Exchange Council; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Barnett has been lovingly supported in all his endeavors by his children, Tyler Matthew and Emily Rose; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Barnett's congenial nature and willingness to serve have had a positive influence on all those who have had the pleasure of working with this highly respected member of the House:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and express our deepest appreciation to Representative Les Barnett for his contributions to the legislative process and the people of the State of Mississippi and extend our heartiest wishes for success in all his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative Les Barnett and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
