House Resolution 1

A RESOLUTION URGING CONGRESS TO RETURN A GREATER PORTION OF THE FEDERAL UNEMPLOYMENT TAX TO MISSISSIPPI.

     WHEREAS, the need for federal dollars in the State of Mississippi has increased over the past several years; and

     WHEREAS, Mississippi has a need for a greater portion of the federal unemployment tax to be returned to Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, it would be of great and much needed benefit if Congress were to return a greater portion of the federal unemployment tax to Mississippi, and such dollars would immediately be put to their highest and best use possible:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby urge Congress to return a greater portion of the federal unemployment tax to Mississippi.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the Mississippi Congressional Delegation and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
