House Concurrent Resolution 126

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING PRESIDENT BUSH'S LEADERSHIP IN HIS EFFORT TO PROTECT THE UNITED STATES AGAINST SADDAM HUSSEIN.

     WHEREAS, the dictatorship of Iraq has continued to develop weapons of mass destruction in violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1441; and

     WHEREAS, the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, has demonstrated a willingness to use weapons of mass destruction against neighboring nations and the citizens of Iraq; and

     WHEREAS, Saddam Hussein threatens the Middle East and the global economy with the threat to use weapons of mass destruction; and

     WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to express our support of President George W. Bush, the President's cabinet, and the men and women of the United States Armed Forces for their courage and decision to remove Saddam Hussein from power:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we commend President Bush's leadership in his effort to protect the United States against Saddam Hussein.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to President George W. Bush and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
