AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE PIKE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO LEASE A PORTION OF THE ALPHA CENTER LIBRARY BUILDING IN MCCOMB, IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN EXISTING LIBRARY FACILITIES IN THE BUILDING; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 39-3-1, Mississippi Code of 1972, authorizes the board of supervisors of any county to establish, maintain or aid in establishing and maintaining libraries for the use of the citizens of the county.  Under that authority, the board of supervisors of Pike County, in its discretion, may lease a portion of the Alpha Center Library building in McComb, Mississippi, in order to maintain existing library facilities in the building.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
