AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 931, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 2000, TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TUNICA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO TUNICA COUNTY PUBLIC PROJECTS, INC., OR TUNICA COUNTY ARENA AND EXPOSITION CENTER, INC., OR BOTH, FOR THE MANAGEMENT, PROMOTION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF A PUBLIC GOLF AND TENNIS COMPLEX, ARENA AND RIVER PARK; TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TUNICA COUNTY TO LEASE SUCH PUBLIC FACILITIES TO SUCH ENTITIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Chapter 931, Local and Private Laws of 2000, is amended as follows:

     Section 1.  (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Tunica County, Mississippi ("board of supervisors"), in its discretion, may provide annual funding, in an amount to be determined by the board of supervisors to Tunica County Public Projects, Inc., a Mississippi not-for-profit corporation or Tunica County Arena and Exposition Center, Inc., a Mississippi not-for-profit corporation, or both.  Fundingprovided by the board of supervisors under this section may be used for the management, promotion, operation and maintenance of the Tunica National Golf and Tennis Complex, the Paul Battle, Jr., Arena and Exposition Center and/or the Tunica River Park.  The board of supervisors, in its discretion, may contract with Tunica County Public Projects, Inc., or Tunica County Arena and Exposition Center, Inc., or both, to provide such funding for a period not to exceed twenty (20) years.  The funds may be paid out of any available funds, other than ad valorem tax revenues, of Tunica County, Mississippi, as determined by the board of supervisors on an annual basis.  In addition to funding, the board of supervisors, in its discretion, may assign employees to Tunica County Public Projects, Inc., or Tunica County Arena and Exposition Center, Inc., or both, to assist with the operation, promotion, management and maintenance of the Tunica National Golf and Tennis Complex, the Paul Battle, Jr., Arena and Exposition Center and/or the Tunica River Park.

     (2)  The board of supervisors, in its discretion, may lease the Tunica National Golf and Tennis Complex, the Paul Battle, Jr., Arena and Exposition Center and/or the Tunica River Park, to Tunica County Public Projects, Inc., or Tunica County Arena and Exposition Center, Inc., or both, for a period not to exceed twenty (20) years upon such terms and conditions as the board of supervisors deems appropriate.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after May 1, 2000.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
