AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF PERRY COUNTY TO CONTRIBUTE TO PEARL RIVER VALLEY OPPORTUNITY, INCORPORATED, TO BE USED AS MATCHING FUNDS TO OBTAIN STATE OR FEDERAL GRANTS OR OTHER FUNDING AND/OR TO CONTRACT FOR AND FUND THE OPERATION OF ANY HUMAN SERVICES PROGRAM IN PERRY COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors of Perry County, in its discretion, may contribute up to Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) during the calendar year 2003, from any available funds of the county, to Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Incorporated, a community action agency, to be used as matching funds to obtain state or federal grants or other funding and/or to contract for and fund the operation of any human services program in Perry County, including, but not limited to, a rural transportation program.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
