AN ACT TO ALLOW PERSONS WHO PURCHASE GOODS FROM ANY BUSINESS IN MISSISSIPPI TO HAVE A REFUND OF CASH OR CREDIT TO A CHARGE ACCOUNT INSTEAD OF HAVING TO TAKE A STORE CREDIT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Every business in this state shall provide any person who purchases goods from the business the option of a refund of cash, credit to a charge account or store credit when the purchaser returns the goods in compliance with the return policy of the business.
SECTION 2. Section 1 of this act shall be codified in Title 75, Mississippi Code of 1972.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2003.
