SUBSTITUTE 1 FOR AMENDMENT No. 1 PROPOSED TO

                             Committee Sub. for HB NO. 19

     AMEND after line ___ by inserting the following as new Section __ and by renumbering the succeeding section:

     SECTION  .  In a products liability action, a evidentiary hearing may be requested by a product seller within ninety (90) days of the filing of the complaint to determine if the seller of the product is an innocent seller.  The product seller shall not be liable for any latent defect if the seller is a mere conduit who purchases the product from a reputable manufacturer and shall be dismissed from the action.

     AMEND FURTHER the title on line 2 by inserting the following after the semicolon:  "TO PROVIDE A HEARING REGARDING INNOCENT SELLERS;"
