Senate Resolution 31

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE CLARKDALE HIGH SCHOOL "LADY BULLDOGS" GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM AND COACH RICK ROBERSON FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 2002 SEASON.

WHEREAS, the Clarkdale High School Girls Slow-Pitch Softball Team, the "Lady Bulldogs," has finished the 2002 season with an outstanding 25 and 11 record and a fourth Class 2A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, on their way to the State Championship game, the Lady Bulldogs won their fifth South State Championship and their tenth consecutive Division Championship; and

WHEREAS, the following team members were recognized for their outstanding play during the season and post-season: Emily Howard, All-State; Jordan Orr, All-State; Megan Potate, All-State; and Brandi Wright, All-State; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Bulldogs are ably led by Coach Rick Roberson and Assistant Coaches Britt Bennett and Robbi Roberson; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize the consistent accomplishment of this group of student athletes, who bring honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Clarkdale High School "Lady Bulldogs" Girls Softball Team and Coach Rick Roberson for their outstanding 2002 season, and wish them continued success in their future athletic and academic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Coach Roberson on behalf of the team, be forwarded to the Principal of Clarkdale High School and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
