TO THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SENATE:

GOVERNOR’S VETO MESSAGE FOR SENATE BILL 2940

I am returning Senate Bill Number 2940: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS 41-7-73 AND 41-17-1, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO ADD THOSE NEW FACILITIES OPERATED BY THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH TO STATUTES RELATING TO INSTITUTIONAL CARE REIMBURSEMENT AND OPERATING AUTHORITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES without my approval, and assign the following reasons for my veto.

Senate Bill 2940 is identical to and duplicates House Bill 1205 which has already been signed into law. This veto is not intended to and does not affect the status of House Bill 1205.

I urge the members to sustain the veto and reject Senate Bill No. 2940
