AMENDMENT No. 1 PROPOSED TO

                             Senate Bill NO. 2289

                             By Senator(s) Chaney, Nunnelee

     AMEND on line 75 by inserting after the period the following:

Appointments for such vacancies made by the Governor from and after the effective date of Senate Bill No. 2289, 2002 Regular Session, shall be subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.

     FURTHER, amend on line 77 by inserting the following after the period:

The vacancy shall not be filled if the Governor fails to submit the appointment to the Senate within twelve (12) months from the date the vacancy occurs.
