AMENDMENT No. 1 PROPOSED TO

                             Senate Bill NO. 2026

                             By Senator(s) Bryan

     AMEND by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

     SECTION 1.  From and after July 1, 2002, no distinctive motor vehicle license tag or plate shall be issued pursuant to Sections 27-19-56 through 27-19-56.31.  Persons who have been issued such tags or plates prior to July 1, 2002, may continue to renew such tags until the current tag series is no longer issued.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from

and after its passage.

     FURTHER, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

     AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE ISSUANCE OF CERTAIN DISTINCTIVE LICENSE PLATES AFTER JULY 1, 2002; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
