AMENDMENT No. 1 PROPOSED TO

                             House Bill NO. 1852

                             By Senator(s) Committee

     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors of Newton County, Mississippi, in its discretion, is authorized to contribute up to a maximum amount of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) annually, from any available funds, during the calendar year 2002, to the Veterans Memorial Museum, Incorporated, of Laurel, Mississippi.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

     Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

     AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF NEWTON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO THE VETERANS MEMORIAL MUSEUM, INCORPORATED, OF LAUREL, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
