AMENDMENT No. 1 PROPOSED TO

                             Senate Bill NO. 2418

                             By Representative(s) Committee


     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following shall be codified as Section 73-6-26, Mississippi Code of 1972:

     73-6-26.  It shall be unlawful for any person, corporation or association to, in any manner, make claim, verbally, in writing, or by way of advertising, that they perform chiropractic or chiropractic-like adjustments/manipulation to the articulations of the human spine unless they hold a valid license to practice chiropractic (D.C.) in the State of Mississippi.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2002.


     Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 


     AN ACT TO CODIFY SECTION 73-6-26, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO MAKE IT UNLAWFUL FOR PERSONS TO CLAIM THAT THEY PERFORM CHIROPRACTIC OR ADJUSTMENTS/MANIPULATION TO THE ARTICULATIONS OF THE HUMAN SPINE WITHOUT A VALID LICENSE TO PRACTICE CHIROPRACTIC; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
