A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING FRANK GRAVES FOR WINNING THE BRONZE MEDAL IN THE OLYMPIC COMMAND PERFORMANCE RODEO.

     WHEREAS, Frank Graves of Poplarville, Mississippi, and his partner Joe Peska, won the Bronze Medal in Team Roping at the Olympic Command Performance Rodeo; and

     WHEREAS, this is the second time the rodeo has played a part in the Olympic tradition; and

     WHEREAS, the United States Team was composed of the highest ranking competitors in each event in the Dodge National Circuit Finals, the Winter Finale of the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour, the Summer Finale of the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour, the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and the 2001 World Championship; and

     WHEREAS, forty contestants from the United States and forty contestants from Canada competed in the rodeo as part of the Olympic Cultural Arts Festival; and

     WHEREAS, Frank Graves is the son of Frank and Glenda Graves of Poplarville, Misissippi; and

     WHEREAS, Frank is married to Lisa Wallace and they are the proud parents of two sons:  Chase and Byrce; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Senate of the State of Mississippi to recognize the noteworthy accomplishments of the citizens of the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Frank Graves for winning the Bronze Medal in Team Roping at the Olympic Command Performance Rodeo and wish him continued success in his rodeo endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to Frank Graves.
