AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO MISSISSIPPI EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES RELATED TO THE ACTIVATION OF THE STATE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER FOR EVENTS FOLLOWING THE ATTACK ON THE WORLD TRADE CENTER AND TORNADO AND FLOODING DISASTERS IN NOVEMBER, 2001, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1.  In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency which is comprised of special source funds collected by or otherwise available to the agency, for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency in accordance with Section 33-15-1 et seq., Mississippi Code of 1972, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2002..........$    182,000.00.

     SECTION 2.  This additional appropriation is made for the purpose of providing funds to defray certain expenses due to the emergency activation of the State Emergency Operations Center for extended periods of time resulting from events following the attack on the World Trade Center, tornado disasters on November 24, 2001, and flooding disasters on November 28 and 29, 2001.

     SECTION 3.  The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

     SECTION 4.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
