AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 93-11-73, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH PROVIDES THAT THE AGE OF EMANCIPATION OF A CHILD UNDER THE UNIFORM RECIPROCAL ENFORCEMENT SUPPORT ACT (URESA) SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE INITIATING STATE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 93-11-73, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides that the age of emancipation of a child under the Uniform Reciprocal Enforcement Support Act (URESA) shall be determined by the initiating state, is hereby repealed.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2002.
