AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF EACH COUNTY AND THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF EACH MUNICIPALITY TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS TO THE MISSISSIPPI CONTRACT PROCUREMENT CENTER FOR BID NOTIFICATION SERVICES AND LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The board of supervisors of each county and the governing authorities of each municipality in the state are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to appropriate and pay such sums as they deem necessary and desirable, out of any available funds of the county or municipality which are not required for any other purpose, to the Mississippi Contract Procurement Center for bid notification services and local economic development.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2002.
