House Resolution 33

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING ANDREW ALBERT BRELAND OF PETAL HIGH SCHOOL ON HIS MANY ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS.

     WHEREAS, 18-year-old, uniquely intelligent Andrew Albert Breland is a senior at Petal High School in Petal, Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, throughout his education, from his first day of kindergarten through today, Andrew has maintained a perfect record of attendance; and

     WHEREAS, Andrew's achievement of compiling a perfect attendance record comes second only to his having maintained a 4.0 grade point average through the twelfth grade; and

     WHEREAS, Andrew, exhibiting excellence in all his academic pursuits, represented the State of Mississippi at the 2001 National Youth Leadership Conference held in Washington, D.C.; and

     WHEREAS, receiving a National Merit Award for his outstanding academic record and numerous other academic awards, Andrew is the recipient of William Carey College's Trustee Scholarship, the college's highest scholarship awarded to an individual; and

     WHEREAS, upon graduating from high school in 2002, Andrew will attend William Carey College, where he will pursue a degree in nursing; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi to recognize and commend excellence, especially when exhibited by the youth of our state, who are its future:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Andrew Albert Breland on his many outstanding academic achievements and express to him our very best wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Andrew Albert Breland and the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
