A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE GREETINGS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO PRINCE JUSTICE ZULU, QUEEN MANTFOMBI ZULU AND THE DELEGATION FROM THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA AND WELCOMING THEM TO THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI.

     WHEREAS, a distinguished delegation of royalty, educators and businessmen from the Republic of South Africa is visiting the State of Mississippi, and will be officially presented to the Mississippi House of Representatives; and

     WHEREAS, Prince Justice Zulu is the direct descendant of King Shaka.  His father, King Bhekuzulu, is also the father of King Zwelithini.  He is, therefore, the brother to the present King.  He is a lawyer by profession; he is also a legal advisor to the King; and

     WHEREAS, Queen Mantfombi is the third wife of King Zwelithini.  She is by birth a princess of the Swazi Royal family, a daughter to King Sobhuza II of Swaziland; and

     WHEREAS, Professor Sihawukele Emmanuel Ngubone is from Maputuland, along the Mozambique and Swaziland border in the Republic of South Africa.  Professor Ngubane is currently the Head of IsiZulu at the University of Natal where he teaches the first and second language students from different backgrounds; he is the moderator for most universities and technicians in the country:  University of South Africa, University of Zululand, University of Durban Westville; M.L. Sultan Technikon, Promat and Edgewood.  Professor Ngubane is a key member of African Renaissance Development Trust KZN and has chaired the three International Festivals held in Durban in 1999, 2000 and 2001 and is employed by Economic Development and Tourism as Head of the Ministry, (Durban) South Africa; he currently serves as an executive of the Minara Chamber of Commerce and is a board member of the KZN High Road; he is currently studying for a masters in law through the University of Port Elizabeth; and

     WHEREAS, Frank Marawa is a businessman, travel and tour operator, Director of the Durban African Tourism Board, Director of the KwaZulu Natal Tourism Authority and board member - M.L. Sultan Technikon; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this distinguished delegation from the Republic of South Africa, who honor us with their presence:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby extend the greetings of the Mississippi House of Representatives to Prince Justice Zulu, Queen Mantfombi Zulu and the other members of the delegation from the Republic of South Africa and officially welcome them to the House of Representatives and to the State of Mississippi.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to the delegation from the Republic of South Africa and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
