A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION SUSPENDING THE DEADLINES FOR THE PURPOSE OF REQUESTING THE DRAFTING, AND THE INTRODUCTION, CONSIDERATION AND PASSAGE, OF A BILL ENTITLED "AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS 43-13-107, 43-13-116 AND 43-13-117, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A JOINT LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE THAT WILL MEET WITH THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE DIVISION OF MEDICAID TO DEVELOP A STRATEGY FOR ADDRESSING THE GROWING COSTS OF THE MEDICAID PROGRAM; TO REQUIRE THE DIVISION OF MEDICAID TO VERIFY THE ELIGIBILITY OF APPLICANTS FOR AND RECIPIENTS OF MEDICAID; TO PROVIDE THE GOVERNOR AND THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE DIVISION OF MEDICAID WITH MORE FLEXIBILITY TO ADMINISTER THE MEDICAID PROGRAM, BY AUTHORIZING THE DIVISION TO ESTABLISH THE TYPES OF CARE AND SERVICES TO BE AVAILABLE TO ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS FOR AND RECIPIENTS OF MEDICAID, WHICH INCLUDES DETERMINING THE QUANTITY OR FREQUENCY OF USE OF SERVICES, CHARGES FOR SERVICES AND THE SETTING OF PROVIDER REIMBURSEMENT RATES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES."
