House Concurrent Resolution 115

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING MS. HOLLI ADAMS ON BEING NAMED TO THE 2002 MISSISSIPPI ALL-STATE ACADEMIC TEAM.

WHEREAS, Ms. Holli Adams has been named to the 2002 Mississippi All-State Academic Team, which consists of 48 Mississippi Community and Junior College Students; and

WHEREAS, the All-Mississippi Academic Team recognizes the scholarly achievements and leadership accomplishments of students enrolled in community, technical and junior colleges across the State of Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Adams, a native of Brookhaven, attends Copiah-Lincoln Community College, majoring in mechanical engineering and mathematics with a 4.0 grade point average; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Adams is involved in a number of organizations including co-captain of the women's varsity tennis team, Phi Theta Kappa Vice President, volunteer math and science tutor, All-American Scholar, Pee Wee basketball coach and official and a Guistwhite Scholarship Finalist; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend outstanding academic achievement, especially when evidenced by the young people of our state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Holli Adams on being named to the 2002 Mississippi All-State Academic Team and express our heartiest wishes for success in all her future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Holli Adams and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
