A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR. DONALD BELL UPON HIS ELECTION TO THE SOCIETY OF AMERICAN FORESTERS NATIONAL COUNCIL.

     WHEREAS, Mr. Donald Bell was elected to the Society of American Foresters National Council, representing Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Bell is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor's degree in forest production; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Bell has retired from Bell & Kirkland Timberland Services after 22 years of service as a Consulting Forester; and

     WHEREAS, throughout his long and distinguished career, Mr. Bell has served as an outstanding leader and member of many professional and community organizations such as the Mississippi Forestry Association, the Calhoun County Forestry Association, Bruce Chamber of Commerce, Bruce United Methodist Church and Bruce Sawmill Festival Committee; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Bell has received several awards for his outstanding leadership and community service including the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America and the Rotary Club Paul Harris Fellow; and

     WHEREAS, in addition to his remarkable contributions to the forestry industry, Mr. Bell has served his country as a member of the United States Army as well as the Mississippi National Guard; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend outstanding leadership by Mississippians such as Mr. Donald Bell:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Donald Bell upon his election to the Society of American Foresters National Council and express our heartiest wishes for success in all his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Donald Bell and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
