AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF PERRY COUNTY TO CONTRIBUTE A CERTAIN SUM TO PEARL RIVER VALLEY OPPORTUNITY, INCORPORATED, TO BE USED AS MATCHING FUNDS TO OBTAIN STATE OR FEDERAL GRANTS OR OTHER FUNDING AND/OR TO CONTRACT FOR AND FUND THE OPERATION OF ANY HUMAN SERVICES PROGRAM IN PERRY COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors of Perry County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may contribute up to Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) during the calendar year 2002, from any available funds of the county, to Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Incorporated, a community action agency, to be used as matching funds to obtain state or federal grants or other funding and/or to contract for and fund the operation of any human services program in Perry County, including, but not limited to, a rural transportation program.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
