House Bill 1139

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, ACTING ON BEHALF OF THE MISSISSIPPI FORESTRY COMMISSION, TO SELL AND CONVEY TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LINCOLN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, CERTAIN STATE OWNED REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN LINCOLN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.  

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Department of Finance and Administration, acting on behalf of the Mississippi Forestry Commission, may sell and convey to the Board of Supervisors of Lincoln County, Mississippi, certain state owned real property located in Lincoln County, Mississippi, being more particularly described as follows: 

     A parcel of land in the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of      Section 21, Township 7 North, Range 8 East, Lincoln      County, Mississippi.

     (2)  The sale and conveyance authorized in this section may be made on such terms and conditions agreed upon by the Department of Finance and Administration and the Board of Supervisors of Lincoln County, Mississippi, to be in the best interests of both parties.

     (3)  Any proceeds from the sale and conveyance of the real property described in subsection (1) of this section shall be used first to reimburse the Department of Finance and Administration for any costs incurred by the department regarding the sale and conveyance, and the remaining proceeds shall be deposited into the State General Fund. 

     (4)  The State of Mississippi shall retain all mineral rights to the real property sold and conveyed pursuant to this section.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
