AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION TO ASSIGN TO THE MISSISSIPPI LIBRARY COMMISSION CERTAIN STATE OWNED REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI; TO PROVIDE THAT A NEW BUILDING AND RELATED FACILITIES NECESSARY TO HOUSE THE MISSISSIPPI LIBRARY COMMISSION SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED ON SUCH PROPERTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) The Department of Finance and Administration may assign to the Mississippi Library Commission certain state owned real property located in the City of Jackson, Mississippi, in Hinds County, Mississippi, being more particularly described as follows:

Commence at a found iron rod at the Southeast corner of the Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of the Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of Section 25, Township 6 North, Range 1 East, City of Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi; thence run North 64 degrees 55 minutes 19 seconds West, for a distance of 570.33 feet to the point of beginning of the following described property; thence run North 33 degrees 53 minutes 15 seconds West, for a distance of 500.00 feet to a point that is 30 feet distant from and parallel to the projection of the Southeast line of the Mississippi Wildlife and Fisheries tract as shown on attached plat; thence run North 56 degrees 06 minutes 45 seconds East and along the projection and 30 feet distant from aforesaid Southeast line, for a distance of 680.17 feet; thence run South 10 degrees 41 minutes 03 seconds East, for a distance of 258.32 feet; thence along the arc of a curve to the left, for a distance of 215.10 feet, said curve having a radius of 400.00 feet and a chord bearing and distance of South 26 degrees 05 minutes 23 seconds East, 212.52 feet; thence run South 42 degrees 39 minutes 05 seconds West; for a distance of 68.25 feet; thence along the arc of a curve to the left, for a distance of 72.92 feet, said curve having a radius of 125.00 feet and a chord bearing and distance of South 25 degrees 56 minutes 24 seconds West, 71.89 feet; thence run South 56 degrees 06 minutes 45 seconds West, for a distance of 421.03 feet to the point of beginning, containing 6.667 acres and located in the Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of the Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of Section 25, Township 6 North, Range 1 East, City of Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi.

(2) A new building and related facilities necessary to house the Mississippi Library Commission, to be constructed with proceeds of bonds authorized under Sections 56 through 73 of Chapter 522, Laws of 1999, and any other bonds authorized by the Legislature for such purposes, shall be constructed on the real property described in subsection (1) of this section.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
