AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT ANY PROGRAM OR CURRICULUM IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF MISSISSIPPI THAT INCLUDES THE TEACHING OF EVOLUTION SHALL INDICATE THAT EVOLUTION IS ONLY A THEORY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Any program or curriculum in the public schools of Mississippi that includes the teaching of evolution shall indicate that evolution is only a theory.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2002.
