House Bill 700

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE BOARDS OF SUPERVISORS AND MUNICIPAL GOVERNING AUTHORITIES TO APPROPRIATE SUCH SUMS AS THEY DEEM NECESSARY AND DESIRABLE TO MISSISSIPPI CONTRACT PROCUREMENT CENTERS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The board of supervisors of each county and the governing authorities of each municipality, in their discretion, may appropriate and pay such sums as they deem necessary and desirable, out of any available funds of the county or municipality that are not required for any other purpose, to the Mississippi Contract Procurement Centers for bid notification services provided by the centers in support of the state's public purchase laws (Section 31-7-1 et seq.) and in support of local economic development.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
