AMENDMENT No. 1 PROPOSED TO
Senate Bill NO. 3170

Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Jackson County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute an amount not to exceed Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), during calendar year 2001, calendar year 2002 and calendar year 2003, to the University of Southern Mississippi Institute of Marine Sciences for the benefit of the Jason Project.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI INSTITUTE OF MARINE SCIENCES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE JASON PROJECT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
