A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING BASEBALL COACH PAT MCMAHON OF THE MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY BULLDOGS UPON BEING SELECTED AS HEAD COACH OF THE 2001 USA BASEBALL NATIONAL TEAM.
WHEREAS, Pat McMahon, coach of the Mississippi State University Bulldog baseball team, has been selected as Head Coach of the 2001 USA Baseball National Team; and
WHEREAS, Coach McMahon considers being named to this position among his highest honors; and
WHEREAS, Coach McMahon's contributions to and achievements in coaching collegiate baseball are unsurpassed; and
WHEREAS, after two decades of coaching baseball, Coach McMahon is recognized as one of the nation's top collegiate baseball pitching coaches; and
WHEREAS, his eight-year winning percentage of 677 as a Head Coach at Old Dominion and Mississippi State ranks him among the elite of college baseball coaches; and
WHEREAS, Coach McMahon has led the Mississippi State University Bulldogs to NCAA post-season play in each of his three seasons; and
WHEREAS, Coach McMahon guided the Mississippi State University Bulldogs to the College World Series in his first season; and
WHEREAS, Coach McMahon generously gives of his time and expertise to amateur baseball:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend Coach Pat McMahon upon being selected as Head Coach of the 2001 USA Baseball National Team and wish him success in his endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Pat McMahon.
