A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING ELIZABETH AYDELOTT FOR HER CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PUBLIC HUMANITIES IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI AND UPON RECEIVING THE 2001 PUBLIC HUMANITIES ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Aydelott has worked tirelessly to promote and support Mississippi Humanities Council programs throughout the state for many years; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Aydelott has written and directed projects for the Mississippi Humanities Council, and has promoted and encouraged awareness, interest and participation in the council's work; and

WHEREAS, much of her work with the Mississippi Humanities Council has been a result of her active involvement with the Girl Scouts, the Mississippi Historical Society, Friends of Mississippi Libraries and the Federation of Mississippi Historical Societies; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Aydelott has participated in many outstanding and worthwhile Mississippi Humanities Council programs; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Aydelott has been recognized by the Mississippi Humanities Council as the recipient of the 2001 Public Humanities Achievement Award for the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend Elizabeth Aydelott for her contributions to the public humanities in the State of Mississippi and upon receiving the 2001 Public Humanities Achievement Award.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be furnished to Elizabeth Aydelott and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
