A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING DR. MARK GREENBERG FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO EDUCATION AND SCHOLARSHIP IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, AND UPON RECEIVING THE 2001 HUMANITIES SCHOLAR OF THE YEAR AWARD.

WHEREAS, Dr. Mark Greenberg has served as Resident Historian for the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience and the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute for Southern Jewish Life for the past four years; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Mark Greenberg continues to provide educational leadership to the people of Mississippi by serving as the scholar for the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience and the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute for Southern Jewish Life; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Mark Greenberg has participated in many outstanding and worthwhile Mississippi Humanities Council programs as a scholar, project director, evaluator and member of the speakers bureau; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Mark Greenberg has been recognized by the Mississippi Humanities Council as the 2001 Humanities Scholar of the Year for the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend Dr. Mark Greenberg for his contributions to education and scholarship in the State of Mississippi, and upon receiving the 2001 Humanities Scholar of the Year Award.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be furnished to Dr. Mark Greenberg and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
