AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF HINDS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CHARGE A REASONABLE FEE TO COMMUNICATIONS PROVIDERS FOR THEIR USE OF COUNTY RIGHTS-OF-WAY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Hinds County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to charge a reasonable fee to communications providers for their use of county rights-of-way.

(2) The provisions of this section shall not apply to communications providers vested with the perpetual right to use public rights-of-way without cost which was acquired by their predecessors pursuant to a statutory offer contained in Chapter 38, Laws of 1886.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
