AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF NATCHEZ, MISSISSIPPI, TO ENTER INTO LEASE AGREEMENTS WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR, NATCHEZ TRACE PARKWAY, FOR THE USE BY THE CITY OF CERTAIN LAND FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the City of Natchez, Mississippi, are hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion:

(a) To enter into and execute a lease or leases with the United States of America, Secretary of the Interior, Natchez Trace Parkway, for the use by the City of Natchez for recreational purposes of certain real property owned by the United States of America within the boundary of the Natchez Trace Parkway in the City of Natchez;

(b) To execute such lease or leases on such terms and conditions as are deemed advisable for the City of Natchez without regard to the requirement of Section 21-17-1; and

(c) To execute such lease or leases for a term or terms of not more than fifty (50) years and with renewals thereafter as may be entered into by and between the parties.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
