AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE COUNTIES TO PERFORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS ON PRIVATE PROPERTY OWNED BY NONPROFIT CHARITABLE SECTION 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS IF SUCH IMPROVEMENTS ARE CONSERVATION PROJECTS RECOMMENDED AND APPROVED BY STATE OR FEDERAL AGENCIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Any county may perform drainage improvements on private property owned by a nonprofit charitable organization, as defined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, if such improvements are part of a conservation project approved by a state or federal agency.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
