Senate Bill 2121

AN ACT TO CREATE SECTION 25-4-120, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST PROHIBITIONS SHALL NOT APPLY TO CITIES WITH POPULATIONS OF LESS THAN 2,000; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The following shall be codified as Section 25-4-120, Mississippi Code of 1972:

25-4-120. If a city has a population of less than two thousand (2,000), Section 25-4-105(2) and (3)(a) shall not apply to that city.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after the date that Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 507, 2001 Regular Session is ratified by the electorate.
