House Resolution 29

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE NANIH WAIYA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL LADY WARRIORS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN THE 2000-2001 SEASON.

WHEREAS, the Nanih Waiya Junior High School Lady Warriors Basketball Team finished the 2000-2001 season with a perfect record of 16 wins and no losses; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors won the Nanih Waiya Junior High School Tournament and the French Camp Junior High School Invitational Tournament; and

WHEREAS, members of the 2000-2001 Lady Warriors Team include Nycole Hemphill, Jaimee Jones, Brittney Miles, Kadee Snow, Heather Steele, Heather Thompson, Jessica Edmonson, Brittany Fioramonti, Hope McDill, Jessie Smith, Jessica Williamson, Amber Eaves, Ashley Eiland, Jessica Hemphill, Allison Hill, Shandreka Hunt, Kelly Kight, Melanie Nunn, Becky Pearson and Kristi Pilgrim; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Renee Jones, who has broadened the Lady Warriors' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors have developed a winning attitude and cooperative spirit, and their activities and attitude reflect great pride and bring honor to Nanih Waiya Junior High School; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we commend and congratulate the Nanih Waiya Junior High School Lady Warriors Basketball Team and their coach, Head Coach Renee Jones, for their phenomenal 2000-2001 season and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Nanih Waiya Junior High School, Head Coach Renee Jones and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
