House Resolution 6
A RESOLUTION TO AMEND RULE 96 AND RULE 37 OF THE HOUSE RULES TO PROHIBIT SUSPENSION OF THE RULES FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF CONFERENCE REPORTS BEFORE THOSE REPORTS HAVE BEEN ON THE TABLE FOR ONE DAY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That Rule 96 of the Rules of the House is amended as follows:
"96. Every bill or resolution requiring the signature of the Governor, all resolutions proposing amendments to the Constitution, and all reports of committees except the report of the Committee on Rules, shall be on the table one (1) day before being considered except by suspension of the rules. However, this rule may not be suspended with regard to conference reports."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That Rule 37 of the Rules of the House is amended as follows:
"37. No rule shall be suspended except by the concurrence of two-thirds (2/3) of the members present. However, House Rule 96 may not be suspended with regard to conference reports by any vote."
