AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF NATCHEZ, MISSISSIPPI, TO ENTER INTO LEASE AGREEMENTS WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR, NATCHEZ TRACE PARKWAY, FOR THE USE BY THE CITY OF NATCHEZ OF CERTAIN LANDS FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES FOR THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF NATCHEZ AND ADAMS COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the City of Natchez, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered in their discretion:

(a) To enter into and execute a lease or leases with the United States of America, Secretary of the Interior, through the Superintendent of the Natchez Trace Parkway, of real property owned by the United States of America within the boundary of the parkway in the City of Natchez, Mississippi, for use by the City of Natchez for recreational purposes for the citizens of the City of Natchez and Adams County;

(b) To execute such lease or leases on such terms and conditions as are deemed advisable for the city without regard to the requirements of Section 21-17-1; and

(c) To execute such leases for a term or terms of up to fifty (50) years with renewals thereafter as may be entered into by and between the parties.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
