AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LOWNDES COUNTY TO EXPEND ANY FUNDS THAT ARE AVAILABLE OR THAT MAY BECOME AVAILABLE TO THE COUNTY FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAINING, EDUCATION AND JOB SKILL DEVELOPMENT FOR DISPLACED MANUFACTURING WORKERS IN THE CITY OF COLUMBUS AND LOWNDES COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Lowndes County, in its discretion, may expend any funds that are available or that may become available to the county for economic development for the purpose of providing training, education and job skill development for displaced manufacturing workers in the City of Columbus and Lowndes County. Such expenditures may be in the form of financial assistance for the payment of tuition, the purchase of books or for other costs directly related to such training, education or job skill development.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
