AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-1-355, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CHANGE THE REFERENCE TO THE COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING ACT OF 1978, TO THE FEDERAL WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 7-1-355, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

7-1-355. The Mississippi Development Authority, is hereby designated as the sole administrator of all programs for which the state is the prime sponsor under the Federal Workforce Investment Act, and the regulations promulgated thereunder, and is hereby authorized to take all necessary action to secure to this state the benefits of such legislation. Such division is empowered to receive and disburse funds for such programs which become available to it from any source.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
