REPORT OF CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

MR. PRESIDENT AND MR. SPEAKER:

We, the undersigned conferees, have had under consideration the amendments to the following entitled BILL:

S. B. No. 3280: Appropriation; Veterans Affairs Bd.

We, therefore, respectfully submit the following report and recommendation:

 

1. That the House recede from its Amendment No. 1.

2. That the Senate and House adopt the following amendment:

 

Amend as follows:

Delete lines 9 through 40 and insert in lieu thereof the following:

June 30, 2001 $ 3,413,466.00.

SECTION 2. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the special fund in the State Treasury to the credit of the Veterans Affairs Board which is comprised of special source funds collected by or otherwise available to the board, for the support and maintenance of said board for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001 $ 19,912,853.00.

SECTION 3. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of Sections 1 and 2, not more than the amounts set forth below shall be expended for the respective major objects or purposes of expenditure:

Personal Services:

Salaries, Wages and Fringe Benefits $ 5,692,271.00

Travel and Subsistence 70,000.00

Contractual Services 15,513,650.00

Commodities 1,633,894.00

Capital Outlay:

Other Than Equipment 200,000.00

Equipment 216,504.00

Subsidies, Loans and Grants 0.00

Total $ 23,326,319.00

FUNDING:

General Funds $ 3,413,466.00

Special Funds 19,912,853.00

Total $ 23,326,319.00

Insert a new Section 5 and a new Section 6 and renumber subsequent sections, said new sections to read as follows:

SECTION 5. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby reappropriated out of any money in the State

General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Veterans Affairs Board for the purpose of reauthorizing the expenditure of State General Funds, as authorized in Senate Bill No. 3112, Regular Session of 1999, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001 $ 620,000.00.

Notwithstanding the amount reappropriated under the provisions of this section, in no event shall the amount expended exceed the unexpended balance as of June 30, 2000.

SECTION 6. It is the intention of the Legislature that none of the funds appropriated in this act shall be used to pay

Pharmacy Technicians.
