REPORT OF CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

MR. SPEAKER AND MR. PRESIDENT:

We, the undersigned conferees, have had under consideration the amendments to the following entitled BILL:

H. B. No. 1663: Appropriation; Mississippi Department of Transportation.

We, therefore, respectfully submit the following report and recommendation:

 

1. That the Senate recede from its Amendment No. 1.

2. That the House and Senate adopt the following amendment:

 

AMEND by striking lines 12 through 35 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

SECTION 2. The following offices are supported by the funds appropriated in Section 1: The Office of Administrative Services, the Office of Highways, the Office of Aeronautics and Rails and the Office of Enforcement. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of Section 1, not more than the amounts set forth below shall be expended for the respective major objects or purposes of expenditure:

AMEND FURTHER by striking lines 97 through 108 and renumbering succeeding sections.

AMEND FURTHER by striking lines 126 through 134 and renumbering succeeding sections.

AMEND FURTHER by inserting the following new Section 12 after line 146 and renumbering succeeding sections:

SECTION 12. Of the funds appropriated in Section 1, One Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,500,000.00) shall come from the Mississippi Public Service Special Fund 3811 and Ten Million Dollars ($10,000,000.00) shall come from the Mississippi Public Service Commission Special Fund 3812, it is the intention of the Legislature that the Department of Transportation shall transfer from any special funds available to the State Department of Transportation except the funds provided by the Mississippi

Public Service Commission Eleven Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($11,500,000.00) to the State General Fund.
