REPORT OF CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

MR. SPEAKER AND MR. PRESIDENT:

We, the undersigned conferees, have had under consideration the amendments to the following entitled BILL:

H. B. No. 1636: Appropriation; Department of Marine Resources.

We, therefore, respectfully submit the following report and recommendation:

1. That the Senate recede from its Amendment No. 1.

2. That the House and Senate adopt the following amendment:

 

AMEND by striking lines 10 through 42 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

$ 2,596,647.00.

SECTION 2. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in any special fund in the State Treasury to the credit of the Department of Marine Resources for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001 $ 10,549,166.00.

Of the funds appropriated in this section, Three Million Fifty Thousand Dollars ($3,050,000.00) is derived from the state excise taxes upon gasoline, oil and other petroleum products.

SECTION 3. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of Sections 1 and 2, not more than the amounts set forth below shall be expended for the respective major objects or purpose of expenditure:

SECTION 6. It is the intention of the Legislature that any funds appropriated to Jackson County Board of Supervisors in House Bill No. 1635, 1996 Regular Session, and not yet expended on Fort Bayou Park and Boat Ramp, may be used to perform dredging at the mouth of the Fort Bayou Channel.
