A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING COACH SHARON FANNING OF THE MISSISSIPPI STATE LADY BULLDOGS FOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE MSU LADY BULLDOGS BASKETBALL PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, in 1999-2000, Coach Sharon Fanning led the Lady Bulldogs to their most successful season in the history of the university; and

WHEREAS, Coach Sharon Fanning is the first head coach in Lady Bulldogs history to lead Mississippi State to NCAA post-season play; and

WHEREAS, Coach Sharon Fanning also led the Lady Bulldogs to post-season play in the NWIT; and

WHEREAS, Coach Sharon Fanning has breathed new life into the Lady Bulldogs basketball program; and

WHEREAS, Coach Sharon Fanning is known for stressing academics and has had 13 players on the SEC academic honor roll over the past two seasons; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of the accomplishments, Coach Sharon Fanning was selected as SEC Coach of the Year; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Legislature to recognize the noteworthy accomplishments and contributions of the citizens of this state:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend Coach Sharon Fanning for her contributions to the Mississippi State University Lady Bulldogs Basketball program and wish her continued success in her endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Sharon Fanning.
