Senate Concurrent Resolution 607

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE INGOMAR HIGH SCHOOL "FALCONS" BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 1999-2000 SEASON.

WHEREAS, the Ingomar High School "Falcons" Boys Basketball Team completed the 1999-2000 season with an outstanding 28-9 record; and

WHEREAS, the Falcons had an excellent tournament season this year, winning the Ingomar Pre-Season Tourney, the Myrtle Invitational Tournament, and the Class A Division 2 Tournament, while placing third in the North Half Regional Tournament; and

WHEREAS, much credit for the team's success is due to the excellent leadership of Coach Norris Ashley and Assistant Coach Jonathan Ashley who instilled basic athletic skills and a team work ethic in this fine group of young men; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize the accomplishments of this team of student athletes, who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Ingomar High School "Falcons" Boys Basketball Team for their outstanding 1999-2000 season, and wish them continued success in their future athletic and scholastic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Norris Ashley on behalf of the team and the Principal of Ingomar High School, and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
