Senate Concurrent Resolution 598

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE OAK GROVE LADY WARRIORS HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER TEAM FOR WINNING THE STATE 4A GIRLS SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Oak Grove Lady Warriors captured the State 4A Girls Soccer Championship; and

WHEREAS, in their march to the championship the Lady Warriors won the Division and South State Championships; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors finished with an incredible 18-0 record; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors scored a phenomenal 123 goals and allowed only 8 goals; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors shut-out their opponents in 14 games; and

WHEREAS, this outstanding team was composed of the following Lady Warriors: Captains, Amanda Brown and Whitney Long, Minna Ali, Leah Duhon, Jamie Rahaim, Ashley Collins, Sarah Patterson, Kary Bubar, Kimberly Roberts, Katie DeDeaux, Sydney Krhut, Alison Roberts, Rebecca Sledge, Becca Gilliam, Amelie Peterson, Ashton Long, Chrissy Cullinane, Allison Franks, Erin Holder, Annie Campbell, Amanda Spiers, Briana Douglas and Rebekah Robinson; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors were superbly coached by head coach Clay Smith and assistant coach June Songy; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Legislature to commend the meritorious accomplishment of the youth of this state:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Oak Grove Lady Warriors and Coach Clay Smith upon winning the State 4A Girls Soccer Championship.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Clay Smith and the Lady Warriors.
