AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF VICKSBURG, MISSISSIPPI TO ACQUIRE LAND IN LOUISIANA FOR CITY PURPOSES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to lease, contract for the use of or otherwise acquire real or personal property in Louisiana for the purpose of promoting the safety, economy, health, welfare, economic development, transportation, common good of the citizens of Vicksburg and the surrounding area, industrial development and other general purposes of the City of Vicksburg.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
