Senate Bill 3199

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT FUNDS TO THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS TO OPERATE AN INTENSIVE SUPERVISION PROGRAM FOR JUVENILES, AS AUTHORIZED IN SENATE BILL NO. 3199, 2000 REGULAR SESSION, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of Community Services Block Grant Funds not otherwise appropriated, to the Mississippi Department of Corrections for the purpose of providing funds to operate an intensive supervision program for juveniles, as authorized in Senate Bill No. 3199, 2000 Regular Session, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001

$1,500,000.00.

It is the intention of the Legislature that the Mississippi Department of Corrections shall have the authority to use a portion of the funds appropriated in this section to reimburse the Mississippi Department of Human Services for any expenses incurred by that department for assisting in the establishment and operating of the intensive supervision program for juveniles, as authorized in Senate Bill No. 3199, 2000 Regular Session.

SECTION 2. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
